A Stunning Bespoke Kitchen In Notting Hill

Take a peek at our latest bespoke kitchen in London, based in the heart of Notting Hill, in what is a genuinely stunning period property.

Natural light floods through the lovely bay windows, and the property has exceptional moulding details, including room cornicing that is out of this world.

Lovely, Warm & Luxurious

The first thing to point out is the amazingly veined marble. It’s an Arebascato marble known for its creamy base and thick grey veining. We’ve used marble for the worktops and the complete cladding behind the sink and hob, giving an added wow factor.

We’ve planned for a tall larder Miele fridge and a tall larder Miele freezer in a side-by-side configuration on the first unit run. The door styling is a three-panel shaker door with an in-frame construction, so you’ll notice the butt hinges, which are all cut in by hand(part of the reason why traditional kitchens are more expensive than modern kitchens). (part of the reason why traditional kitchens are more expensive than modern kitchens). The kitchen cabinetry is painted in Farrow and Ball Ammonite, a lovely warm tone that blends amazingly with the oak herringbone flooring chosen by the client.

We benefitted from lofty ceiling heights in this property, as you tend to have in these types of terraced houses in Notting Hill. To act in line with the room’s proportions, we’ve designed top boxes above all of the units to make sure the scale of the kitchen worked with the height of the room.

In the main cooking section of the kitchen, there is a Gaggenau 200 series stainless steel gas hob with a large wok burner in the centre. The extractor is recessed into the top panel of the furniture. Below the hob, we have loads of drawer storage which are dovetail oak drawer boxes with practical internal cutlery and utensil drawers.

The island benefits from plenty more drawer storage, but the worktop here is reserved purely as a prep space, perfect for chopping and prepping your food. Sitting next to the gas hob a further two Gaggenau 200 series appliances, this time a single oven and a combi microwave, with additional storage above and below the appliances.

Bespoke & Practical By Design

We have designed a curved painted open shelving unit on the opposite wall with feature lighting, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the end of the room without the need for full-depth units.

Next, we have a 60cm wide Gaggenau 400 series Vario wine fridge with three different temperature zones. The wine fridge contains Oak wine racks and a beautiful internal design as far as appliances go.

In what is a typical configuration for us, we’ve placed the pull-out bin, a 70cm wide, deep stainless steel sink, and the dishwasher on the other side, a Miele dishwasher. To finish this area off nicely, we have a Quooker Pro 3 Fusion tap in stainless steel, offering boiling water in an instant.

There is also a floating fly-over shelf above the sink, primarily for display/decorative items, which is set against the marble book matched cladding.

Finally, we have the dream, a double pocket door larder with lovely oak internals, antique mirror splashback, matching marble worktops, and a coffee pod drawer insert for all of you coffee lovers out there. The glass shelves allow the internal lighting to bounce around this unit.

We then have the milk section, which is slightly smaller, but we’ve got plenty of drawer storage here. We’ve also got a smaller two ring induction hub with another extractor built-in underneath there. Finally, another sink and dishwasher with an extra LeMans corner unit. Again, lots of food storage in here. And then finally ending on one of our favourites – a pull-out Tandem Lauder, where we’ve got incredible amounts of food storage, or for dried goods; cereals etc.

What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We certainly weren’t the easiest customers , we weren’t sure what we wanted or when ! However Donna, Richard, Rich and their amazing team guided us through the process with utter professionalism as well as warmth and patience. The results exceeded our expectations, particularly the attention to every detail. They wouldn’t rest until they knew we were happy with everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Woodworks provided us with excellent service, from planning and design to finished kitchen

Build quality is excellent and it really does give the house the WOW factor

Our kitchen was part of a new build process for house we have built from scratch. Deadlines constantly moved, and Woodworks worked around everybody to get the job done on time and in full

After sales is very good, with tweaks to doors and cupboards all part of the service!

It has been an absolute pleasure to deal with The Wood Works. Our existing kitchen was 20 years old, and the layout of the room did not make use of the available space. Josh produced inspired ideas for re-designing the whole area, and really listened to what we wanted to achieve, patiently fine-tuning the plans to our particular requirements. We are now the proud owners of a stunning and practical new kitchen which has completely exceeded our expectations. When my sister visited for the first time, she said "it looks like the kitchen of a celebrity chef!" (which I am not). What a transformation. The Wood Works is a family-run business, and that really shows in terms of their professional service, quality of fittings, attention to detail, reliability and easy communication. Nothing was too much trouble. At the start of the project, Josh promised we would have our kitchen by Christmas. I was sceptical as we were in the midst of the pandemic, but they delivered as promised, with no hitches. Thoroughly recommend.
