Welcome to our latest bespoke kitchen project
Welcome to our latest project. We are here in edgware just a stone’s throw from our Mill Hill showroom and we’ve got an absolute beauty to show you today.
So we’ll start as we always start with the island. This is a very, very special island, something we haven’t done a lot of. And you will notice that we have a 300mm overhang of the breakfast bar here and the client has some lovely stools lined up. But really this up and over detail, which creates a light-well, and there’s actually LED lighting in the underside of this top panel.
You’ve got a bronze metallic panel running all the way through here that matches and picks up on the rest of the bronze accents in the kitchen which is a really nice place for the client to sit down, perch, have a coffee and read a book in the morning. You’ll notice that we’ve got this lovely chocolate brown colour, which is this oak panelling on the backside of the island.
The stone is Levantina Barocca. That is a granite, and we’ve got lots of detailing around the island. We’ve got the breakfast bar overhang, we’ve got this top shelf (up and over goalpost feature) that comes all the way down to the floor. So effectively a stone down stand. This top section of the up and over area is actually really practical for when you have guests and you are entertaining because you can put the dishes that you’re serving on here and people can self-serve.
You’ll see more of this chocolate brown oak coming through. And then the main tall unit ahead of me, we’ve got this beautiful Cashmere colour, which is a flat colour. We’ve got the elements cornice above, which is basically two layers of laminate and between that is the metallic bronze, and we’ve got this beautiful, knurled antique brass handles, but actually that antique brass is very, very similar to the bronze colour we’ve used throughout.
Opening up this first unit, you’ll see more of that lovely chocolate brown internal, so we’re sort of making sure the kitchen reads from one area to another. We have double thick shelving, LED strip lighting on three sides. We’ve got a worktop here, and then three drawers at lower level. You’ll see the client is using that to store bowls, china etc.
The client’s got their coffee machine housed internally, looks like they’re like their coffee toaster and nutribullet. So that is a fairly common setup for us. It’s basically the breakfast pantry we call it. And then above here, nice and organized. I can’t tell you what pleasure that is to see everything in glass jars and boxes!
The next tall unit along is more storage in another single tall unit, and we’ve got three stainless steel sided gallery rail fronted drawer boxes here at low level and then we’ve got fully shelved units above being used to store more dried goods, oils and spices.
On the front side or the working side of the island, more of this lovely Levantina barrocca granite on the worktop. More of the chocolate oak on the front. And these are all drawers here, with super practical internal drawers. It’s actually got solid timber walnut inserts here for cutlery and utensils, and then you push that back and then you’ve got more space here and then at low level, more push to open drawers, space for pots, pans, et cetera. And that is either side of this Siemens gas hob, so it is a black glass base and you’ve got a single large wok burner and four smaller gas rings here, and then above me is actually an extractor recessed into the ceiling. It’s a Westinn stratus air extractor powder coated stainless steel in white, so it blends in seamlessly with the ceiling above it, and you can see the clients opted for a bulkhead here and two lovely pendant lights hanging on either side.
We’ve got the same up and over detail on the working side of the island, creating the light-well with LED strip lighting running across. So again, in the evening, it gives a really lovely glow and nice ambiance when you’re cooking. Sockets have been integrated into the stone here. USB and plug sockets are really useful. And then onto the main wet part of the kitchen.
So we have this lovely bronze elements wall unit. So it’s a lovely chunky bit of bronze. So it’s a flap up wall unit. And you can see here we’ve got glasses, champagne, flutes. Some more plates, et cetera. And then the sink. We’ve got a lovely wide 800 blanco sink.
This is a sil-granite material in black and in a normal configuration for us. We’ve actually got the dishwasher on one side. We’ve got the sink unit, which is a double door sink unit. Pro three Quooker flex in matte black. So we’ve got normal hot and cold water as usual. And then at the touch of a button, boiling water being dispensed.
And the client’s actually gone for a matching matte black filtered water tap. So this actually just is filtered water coming straight out the tap, which is really practical.
And then on the opposite side here (working side of the island) we’ve got an integrated bin and quite a nice feature here.
We’ve got an internal drawer here, which is really handy for extra bin bags. You can see where the tall units meet the base units, we have actually got a niche here. So the stone comes all the way around, so it’s a full cladding and then all the way into the corner and actually usually the client stores their magimix blender in there and then some fully shelved more display units above that in that cashmere colour.
In the tall stack for the oven we’ve got Siemens studio line ovens. We’ve got a single oven at low level, and then we’ve got a microwave at high level. So everything you need to be able to cook. And then on the left of this is actually the Fisher and Paykel American style fridge freezer. So it’s a 900 wide unit.
We’ve got a filtered water dispenser in the front of the door. It’s a lovely graphite grey color, and it’s American style, so it’s a double door fridge at high. 70 30. You can see here really, really nice storage. Internally. You can get everything that you need in there and lots of drawers as well. And then at low level, you’ve actually got a freezer drawer, which has some internal drawers as well.
