St Johns Wood
Touring a luxury kitchen design by our Design Director Rich.
This kitchen incorporated luxury modern design elements utilising slab doors painted in All White paired with stainless steel accents. We utilised Silestone Iconic Boost worktops with angled stone leg on the island. This kitchen had Gaggenau 400 series appliances to give a slightly more modern kitchen aesthetic.
A Practical, Luxury Kitchen
Welcome to our latest luxury kitchen project in St. John’s Wood. This bespoke kitchen was fitted in a basement which we don’t often get to do, so we’re really excited to show this one-off.
The first thing you’re going to notice here is the island and, more importantly, the angled stone leg which comes all the way down to the floor – this is a feature from our Ascella range which is shown in our Mill Hill showroom and seems to be very popular.
An overhang of 300m acts as a breakfast bar that easily accepts stools underneath. The stone worktop is Silestone Iconic white, which has a really crisp, fresh look. The wall colours are a beigey tone, at the client’s request to bring something bright and white to lighten up the room. Pendant lights hang above the island, which gives a nice ambience.
To the left of the kitchen, we have designed and made a TV unit which we don’t often do, but seeing as it is literally off of the kitchen, we thought we would have some input. It’s a display unit come TV unit painted in a Farrow and Ball Inchyra blue which is a charming blue-green colour. The garden sits just off the TV unit with glazed double doors that open out and let lovely natural light in.
Appliances & Features To Compliment
Another feature of the Ascella kitchen is a tall run of units coupled with the island that has an angled downstand. The first unit in his run is a pullout larder which is 30cm wide. This can be used for all your spices, cans, tinned goods and oils.
The next unit is a 900mm wide Gaggenau fridge-freezer. The freezer is a drawer which sits at a low level, and above you have a large single opening door with the trademark stainless steel internals.Next along, we have a narrow storage unit, fully shelved. One thing to point out here is the handle detail. We recess in a piece of stainless steel from behind, which acts as a handle.
The island frontages are a light concrete laminate which houses lots of storage and a Gaggenau 200 series gas hob with a large wok burner in the centre. Across from this on the tall run, we have a further two Gaggenau 200 series appliances, which are side by side ovens. Again you can see the trademark Gaggenau dials.
The Pocket door larder is next (always a fan favourite), where we continue the same worktop through from the island. Double sockets cut into the back panel in a lovely dark Oak interior, double thickness shelves, LED strip lighting on three sides and drawer storage underneath.
Sitting adjacent to this is the open display unit which has shelves to store cookbooks or other ornaments. It has been spray lacquered to match the tall run of units.
The sink run comprises of a 700mm wide stainless steel under-mount sink, a Quooker Fusion all in one tap which provides hot, cold and boiling water (we supply these in practically every kitchen we make) and next to this we have a dishwasher and bin making the wet run of units extremely practical.
We hope you love this as much as we do!
