Virginia Water
We are in Virgina Water at a lovely client’s home. We are touring our latest kitchen which is a hybrid between our Ascella and Elements Ranges. This kitchen features matt slab cabinetry in Light grey with matt black borders, an elements cornice trim which is stainless steel sandwiched between matt black panelling, a double pocket door larder with glass fronted legrabox drawers and stone from quartzforms.
Welcome to our latest bespoke kitchen project
Welcome to our latest project here in Virginia Water, which is a beautiful part of the country. I’m back off paternity leave and here to give you another amazing tour.
This kitchen is a bit of a mix of our Ascella kitchen range and our elements kitchen range. So as always, we’ll start by discussing the island. The island worktops are the beautiful Black stone with gorgeous white veining, and it is from quartzforms and it’s called planet Pluto – we really really like the dark tones and moody vibes it gives off.
On one side you’ll also see our bespoke feature Ascella legs which is an angled leg that’s been mitred all the way down to meet the floor. Another cool feature on the island as we come round is, as always, the popup S box which has two sockets and then some USB ports as well perfect for charging a laptop, a phone, a handheld blender, whatever you need – it really is very practical.
In terms of the colours, we’ve used a matte black PM finish and a light grey matte PM finish. What we’ve done is used the matte black almost as a border to frame the grey doors. We also have at high level our signature Elements cornice which is a piece of stainless steel sandwiched between our matte black laminate.
Either side of the central Elements wall unit we have two double wall units which are standard fully shelved units.
On the working side of the island we have a cool feature – it’s the Chubb Every Day safe – essentially a fingerprint scanning drawer safe that is built into our units. It’s RFID blocking so perfect for car key storage at night so that nobody can scan your car key frequency and steal your car whilst you’re sleeping! Below this is just a deep drawer for additional storage.
Either side of the sink we have an integrated bin and on the other side a dishwasher, which is a normal set up for our kitchens. In the centre of the island we have the BORA Pure extractor which comprises of four induction rings and a downdraft extractor in the centre of the hob. We opted for this as the bulkhead above the island is a standalone feature and the client didn’t want to interrupt this with any built in extractor.
Practical features blended with exquisite design
On the wet side of the kitchen we have a double sink with a normal Quooker mixer tap to match the Quooker Pro 3 Flex tap on the island. This tap swivels so you can use either sink easily. Above this is the feature elements wall unit with a stainless steel frontage and on blum aventos flap up system which is a push to open and opens using an electric servo drive system. The stone continues from the island and we have integrated this staggered splashback detail to create a lightwell and cast light down onto the working portion of the island.
To the left of the sink, we have the Fisher and Paykel dishwasher drawers. These are really practical as you can load each drawer separately if you only have half a load which is much more energy and water usage efficiency.
We’ve mentioned it already but on the island we have a small prep sink with the Quooker flex tap on it, which dispenses chilled, boiling and sparkling water, as well as having a pull out spray feature. Another cool feature on the island is the champagne trough which is actually plumbed in so if you were to fill it with ice when you’re having guests, at the end of the night you can let the water run away.
On the tall run of units we have a fridge and freezer, both by Liebherr, with a bit of storage above. The frontages are opened with Buster and Punch Black Closet Pull Handles which are a lovely bit of hardware.
In the centre of this tall run, we have a Siemens Single oven and Microwave above with a 29cm warming drawer at low level. Above this, we have vertical baking tray dividers which are very useful and at low level a shallow drawer.
To the left of this unit is our signature double pocket door larder which has glass shelves internally, LED Strip lighting on three sides, stone worktop internally and glass-fronted legrabox drawers. The internal colour was this lovely anthracite wood grain finish which looks great when the doors are opened and pushed in fully.
Finally, the piece de resistance, a slightly different feature than usual. This is an underground wine cellar from the stone cellar company. Effectively it’s a large glass door that you can walk over and it’s solid when you open it you can walk down in the spiral staircase down into the wine cellar which is temperature-controlled and storage for hundreds of wine bottles.
